Job descriptions change. Friends change. Children grow. Grandchildren are born. People get married. Family members pass away. Like many others, this was Cathy’s life. But throughout all the changes in her life, for many years there was a constant. That constant was her black Labrador Sebastian. Sebastian was not only the loving and loyal family dog, but he was the neighborhood mascot. Cathy lives on a golf course, so Sebastian (often referred to as “Sebby”) would roam the course as if he were on staff! Everyone new Sebby, called him by name, and gave him goodies when he would come their way. After many years of a wonderful life, Sebby’s body gave way to the cancer that had attacked him. Fittingly, he is buried on the same golf course where he used to spend many of his glorious days.
Cathy knew that Sebby could never be “replaced,” and had no plans to add another dog to her life. The thought of any dog besides Sebastian sleeping on her bed was too much to bear. Then…word spread that there was a litter of labs that needed homes. Cathy’s son adopted one of the dogs (now named Fisher), so Cathy decided it was time to bring the unconditional dog love back into her life. She adopted Fisher’s brother, and named him Bogey as a reference to her love for golf.
Who knew that this dog would turn into one of the BIGGEST labs I have ever seen-he’s more like a big bear than a dog! Bogey’s zest for life is unmistakable. He is funny, sweet, smart, and an expert at stealing food (like entire loaves of bread!) from the kitchen. If you blow up a balloon, you will witness a dog who will jump like crazy to pop it-even while it’s still in your hand! So although Sebby will never be forgotten, Bogey is now Cathy’s number one dog. He has stolen her heart, and she has stolen his![]()

One of Bogey’s best pals.

The beautiful and lovely Cathy having fun with her best friend.

Look at that intensity and focus. He was determined to pop that thing!

Oh, and I forgot to mention Bogey’s good pal Tiger, who posed ever so gallantly for a few photos as well.
