Marie. Animals love her-her horses, her chickens, and her dogs. This amazing woman has a HUGE heart, and I’m sure would rescue every animal in the world who needed a home if she could! But until then, she spends her time giving love to her pets, and volunteering with LUV A DOG Rescue & Adoptions. I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Marie’s four dogs who are incredibly lucky to have ended up in her home. (I did meet a couple of Marie’s chickens, too, as I pulled into her driveway!) Enjoy getting to know Lincoln, Mason, Sydney, & Dillon. And if your lucky, maybe someday you’ll get to meet Marie, too!![]()
LINCOLN:
Lincoln is an 11 year old English Yellow Lab, but Marie says he doesn’t have an accent
This boy is SWEET. I mean sweet. He’s the kind of dog with whom you’d like to lay on the floor and cuddle. When he’s not cuddling, he’s busy fetching Frisbees and tennis balls, and hanging out with his brothers and sisters. Although this boy is named Lincoln after the Land of Lincoln (Illinois) where he was born, he also answers to Bink Bink…or anything that rhymes with Link! According to Marie, Lincoln has no bad habits-he is perfect. I would agree![]()

MASON:
Mason is named after Bill Mason, a famous cat burglar. Apparently in his younger days, Mason used to sneak Marie’s things out of the house without her knowing. Now about 7 years old, Mason is nicknamed Mace, Macer, and Snace. Mason was rescued from the Tippecanoe County Humane Society. He had been a hoarded dog, and was in the shelter for TEN months before Marie rescued him. Now, he is Marie’s running partner-what a happening ending for this boy!
As a side note, Marie told me that Mason was honored that we named our son after him![]()

SYDNEY:
Sydney, who is now about 5 years old, celebrates her birthday on October 15th as that is the day she was adopted. In true Miniature Australian Shepherd fashion, this girl would fetch 24/7 if you’d let her! She was hysterical during our shoot, fetching a HUGE ball over, and over, and over, and over… When she’s not fetching, her other favorite past time is eating (I knew I loved this girl for a reason!) Sydney truly embraces life with vigor-as Marie put it, Sydney is a pistol!

DILLON:
What a way to start life. This boy spent the first year of his life locked in a dark barn with little food or water. Thankfully, he was rescued by Marie, along with his two brothers. Marie is still working on getting custody of Dillon’s Mom and Dad. Not surprisingly, Dillon is shy and afraid of strangers. But I feel lucky that slowly but surely he warmed up to me during our photo shoot. He’s trying really hard to trust people, and I give him a TON of credit for even LOOKING at a human after the way he was treated. Dillon’s name came from the show Gunsmoke, and he also responds to Dill Weed, Dill Pickle, and Silly Dilly (love the nickname Dill Pickle!) Good luck to you Dillon-you’ve got a wonderful Mom who will remind you that there actually ARE nice humans in this world.
