If a dog is man’s best friend, then I can truly say that Matt and Natalie are a dog’s best friends. Not only are these two big-hearted people dog parents to 4 rescue pups, they foster dogs on a regular basis for LUV A DOG Rescue & Adoptions in Indianapolis. Their home is full of dogs and love…and lots of laughs via hilarious dog antics! I enjoyed both photo shoots at their home (Mother Nature decided to be temperamental during the first shoot…) which gave me the opportunity to spend more time with these fantastic rescues. And fortunately we accomplished the goal of getting some fun shots for Matt & Natalie’s holiday card. Meet Rockstar, Drummer, Maximus, and Domino:
ROCKSTAR:
Rockstar is an Australian Cattle Dog who also goes by Rocky, Rocker, and Dingo. To say that he is a frisbee catching machine is an UNDERSTATEMENT! He’s full of energy, and loves running and playing with his sister Domino.
DRUMMER:
Drummer, a Nova Scotia Duck Rolling Retriever, came all the way from Norway! He was originally purchased as a stud/show dog, but didn’t “live up” to the expectations of his family. So fortunately Natalie thought he was PERFECT and brought him home. Drummer’s registered name is Lavustua’s Tambor Major…which turned into Drummer…which often turns into Drummy, Drum-sicle, Drumbly Bum, Bumbly Drum, and Old Man. Some of Drummer’s favorite past times are sleeping, swimming, and stealing rawhides from his siblings. He certainly has a wonderful smile!
MAXIMUS:
My name for him is The Clown. Mom and Dad call him Max, Maximillian, and Reindeer, although his full name is Randall Q. Maximus Esquire. This sweet boy is HYSTERICAL. He is goofy, funny, and loves life to the fullest. Maxiumus was adopted from LUV A DOG but didn’t have success at his new home. Matt and Natalie had been his foster parents, and when he came back to their home for the second time, it was FOR GOOD!
He now spends his days snuggling on the couch with his new family.
DOMINO:
You might remember Domino from a former blog post. Domino was originally named Kleo, and was a featured LUV A DOG Rescue. I fell IN LOVE with this dog, and couldn’t get her out of my mind. My husband gently reminded me that we already had two wonderful dogs, and that he was sure that Kleo would find a good home. As much as I hate to admit it, he was right-Kleo DID find a good home. A GREAT home! Domino loves her new home and enjoys catching the Frisbee in the backyard and playing with her brothers. A far cry from being chained up outside at her first home.
