SqueakDog Pet Photography: A Little Dog That Survived A Big Fire

There are so many tragic stories in the news these days, so it’s heartwarming to hear of a sad story with a HAPPY ending like this one. Meet Sparky. This sweet boy was found hiding under a bed after his house caught on fire, and after the fire was extinguished. Once again, the wonderful people at LUV A DOG have stepped in to make sure that Sparky is being treated, rehabilitated, and cared for until his owners can take him back. Foster Moms Stacey and Kim are doing an incredible job caring for and re-socializing Sparky so that the memory of the fire is a distant one. Christina at LUV A DOG is assisting LUV A DOG volunteers to get Sparky’s vet bills covered through donations. I feel fortunate to have met Sparky and to know that his happy little soul will continue to touch human lives for many years to come.

Below is an excerpt from a flyer created by foster Moms Stacey and Kim which gives more details of Sparky’s terrifying ordeal. If you would like to offer a donation to help pay for Sparky’s veterinarian bills, please contact LUV A DOG by clicking HERE. Thank you again to Stacy, Kim, Christina, LUV A DOG volunteers, and all those mentioned below for their dedication to this truly deserving dog!

Hi, my name is Sparky!  My family and I were in a house fire on March 12, 2011.  Six of my family members (3 adults and 3 kids) were sent to the hospital.  After 90 minutes, I was found under a bed…not breathing at first.  A nice fireman rescued me, rubbed me and gave me oxygen.  As soon as they realized I was breathing, two neighbors rushed me to All Pet.   I am so grateful to Dee and Lisa for opening the doors early and giving me a second chance at life!  And thanks to Dr. Mavi for believing in me and my future.  All Pet did a wonderful job at getting me stabilized before sending me off to Noah’s Hospital where I was surrounded by more wonderful, patient and caring humans.  They rushed to continue saving my life because they said I deserved it after enduring all that horrible smoke for so long.  I was released after 36 hours looking like a true miracle with barely a cough.  I was so happy to finally get outside…I was truly still feeling anxiously trapped.  I do have to say sorry to Noah’s Hospital for being so grumpy and uncooperative – I just wasn’t myself being so scared and all.  I have since developed seizures and have to be on medicine – that was a really scary experience too!  The doctors think it’s due to lack of oxygen or carbon monoxide poisoning.  Life is really looking up though…I am getting more comfortable inside the house as long as I know someone is near in case I need them.  My nice neighbors and All Pet staff have helped me feel more secure as they monitor me for seizures around the clock.  My family members have all since been released from the hospital, too, although my owner will be in rehab for a little bit longer.  And I don’t smell all smoky anymore thanks to my free groom from Lynn’s On The Spot Grooming!    While I am loving life (being a lap dog, running, and playing with toys), and thankful for being saved, I am worried about how my human and family are going to make it since we lost everything.  I am also worried about how these nice neighbors are going to pay for my vet bills and medicine.  I thank Noah’s Hospital, All Pet and LUV a Dog Rescue for beginning this process of helping with my bills.  If you can help in any way, it would ease my mind and everyone would be really grateful.    Thank you so much!!!!  I am so lucky to be part of a community that is so quick to step up and help each other – It makes my heart swell with pride!
