Meet Roman, a very special boy. Roman’s mom Dawn volunteers at the Almost Humane Society in Lafayette, IN. Over 10 years ago, Roman arrived at the shelter from the Purdue Vet School. He had been hit by a car and had to have one of his back legs amputated. Because Dawn is a Special Education Speech/Language Pathologist, she knew right away that this cat had special needs, and she couldn’t resist adopting this boy as her own.
Since that wonderful meeting, Dawn and Roman have been inseparable. They have been through all kinds of life changes, and have relied on each other for companionship and support. Roman’s dad calls him “Rom-Bom” and mom calls him her “Big Boy.” According to Dawn, Roman is spoiled rotten![]()
Let me tell you this is one cool cat. During our photo shoot, Dawn was having some remodeling done to her home. There were workers in and out of the house, making noise, etc. and Roman just sat there, watching all the action-totally unfazed! I can see how this laid back demeanor coupled with his incredibly sweet personality has captured Dawn’s heart. I think you’ll see in the photos below the special bond these two share. It was a pleasure to meet both Dawn and Roman, and to have the opportunity to capture their wonderful friendship on film.
